For years, Lina was president of the Loft Artists Association, a dynamic professional artist organization, and successfully produced numerous high profile art events in Stamford.
- Open Studios: Attracting over 4,000 visitors across the tri-state area, this weekend art extravaganza enables the public to roam through the working studios of over 70 Loft Artists.
- Spring Fling: Stamford’s first-ever community performance series, combined a surreal film festival, world-inspired music, free-flowing acrobatic dance, classical ballet, and an expansive visual art show – all in one amazing night at the Rich Forum Theatre.
Under Lina’s leadership, the Loft Artist Association was recognized by the Stamford Cultural Development Corporation and received three prestigious City Arts Partnership Program Grants.
Lina Morielli was born in Montreal and raised in Darien, Connecticut. A graduate Parsons School of Design
in graphic communications, her career has ranged widely. From designing and producing craft editorials for Woman’s Day Magazine and Family Circle Magazine to developing craft projects for the industry ……this foundation led her to promote arts in the community. She created and taught after school and summer camp art enrichment programs for the I Have a Dream Foundation, the Yerwood Community Center and the South End Senior Center. Many local high school students have participated in her television video workshops, and aired their work on public access TV stations. Lina is also known for creating the Miracles “Special Delivery Cow” for Stamford Hospital’s Neo-Natal Unit. During the 50th anniversary of STAR Lighting
the Way, Lina created a 5’ star which was auctioned during the “Galaxy of Stars” benefit celebration. Today, she is currently curating six exhibits annually at the Mayor’s Gallery in the Government Center in Stamford.
